Meet The Team

Sara Gill, LVT, The Owner

Sara has been a Licenced Veterinary Technician since 2003, graduated from an AVMA accredited school with a bachelors in Veterinary Technology. After her internship in Oregon, she moved to the Bitterroot Valley and worked in Missoula for Dr. Minott Pruyn for 16 years until he retired. Sara loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a special interest in surgery, post-op care, and anesthesia. Her decision to leave vet med and take over the Pet Palace in 2018 was a huge leap of faith, but a great move. "Now I actually get to play with dogs all day!"

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her daughter, hubs, and three dogs, Mazzy, Zuko and Magda. She loves anything outdoors and animal related.

Jessica, The Groomer

Jessica has always been an animal lover, and has a knack for getting animals to love and trust her. She started as a kennel worker, and never did she dream that it would end up being a career! The former groomer at Pet Palace decided to leave, and we asked Jessica if she’d like to try grooming. She looked up different breeds and cuts online and learned to replicate them. The more she groomed, the better she got. Her clients began to compliment her on what a good job she was doing and how much they enjoyed having Jessica for their groomer!

She loves using humor in life; her clients enjoy that aspect of her personality, and she enjoys serving them with a laugh. They have commented that, to their surprise, even their shy or aggressive dogs have learned to like Jessica. That led her to studying animal behavior modification, and she’s learned how to successfully train animals to abandon bad behaviors and obey their owners. She really does have a dog’s life -- and she loves it! She could not imagine doing anything else. Come and see her at the Pet Palace and find out what she’s all about!

Julie, Vet Tech, Pet Care Attendant

Julie has been a Veterinary Technician for over 18 years. She has 3 dogs, Maggie the pug, Tucker the Shih Tzu, and Finn, a blind poodle mix. She has 3 kitties. In her spare time she loves hiking, wood burning (check out the signs she did in the office of our facility!) and sitting by the fire. Julie is super happy to bring her medical knowledge, and looks forward to continue to work with everyone’s fur babies at the Pet Palace.

Tammy, The Receptionist

Tammy is the receptionist at Bitterroot Pet Palace. She brings a little southern charm to the place. Tammy is originally from Charlotte, NC, and has been working with pets and people for over 10 years. She has two Rottweilers, Sig Sauer and Bullet, and two kitties, Leggo and Beaner. She always makes sure the fur babies in our care have plenty of activities such as karaoke, poker and bingo night during their stay with us.
